About Us

Welcome to Maries Dance Boutique, a dance store where the focus is to provide good quality, affordable dance shoes and dancewear for everyone who loves to dance.

As a home based store with a studio dedicated to everything Dance, customers are warmly welcome to come in for a personalised fitting.

With a career in Banking my love of dance and the performing arts was originally restricted to parent help and car pooling my son to and from dance class and rehearsals.

In August 2004, following the tragic loss of a young family member in a car accident, I realised the time we have with those we love should never be taken for granted. The life style change from working in the finance industry to establishing my own business doing what I loved was the start of a new journey, a change of direction and a step into the unknown. I have never looked back.

Maries Dance Boutique had evolved over the past 15 years from initially selling just dance shoes to now supplying beautiful performance wear for competitions, examinations and group performances.

I truly love my job and it's been a pleasure watching dancers that visited for their first pair of dance shoes 15 years ago returning each year. I am thankful to all the parents, dancers and teachers who have supported and encouraged me over the years and who continue to refer others to me. You have contributed to the growth of my business allowing me to continue doing what I am passionate about.

Most importantly.... the past 15 years has given me the opportunity to spend precious time with my children and support my son Nicholas in his career choice and dream of been a professional dancer.

I would also like to thank Nicholas for developing Maries Dance Boutique website. Nicks inspiration, encouragement and persistence has initiated the launch of this new website. I hope you like it as much as I do!

In Memory of Elizabeth Channon Smith 1988 - 2004

It's all about the faded blues and rock n 'roll
No time for sitting on the side lines looking
cleaned and pressed.
Had to be part of the action,
All contact nothing less

I don't have patience to stand and glance.
I won't accept the job of acting polite
and fanciful.
Baby I want it wild.
I wanna dance.
